MAKING A COLD COFFE

Image
Coffee is a much-loved drink in my house. I have loved coffee now for longer than I can remember. Almost every time I am in Sioux Falls with my mom, we stop to get coffee from Starbucks. My mom used to work at the Corner Cup here in George. That was until it closed down. Ever since my mom stopped working there, we have had a Toddy maker. Toddy is a form of iced-coffee. There are quite a few steps on how to make this drink, but it is definitely worth it after you have finished. The three different steps in making this iced coffee are making the Toddy, getting the ingredients, and making the drink. The first step in making this iced-coffee drink is actually making the Toddy. There are quite a bit of things that have to be done in this first step. In order   …show more content… This is where the magic of the coffee happens. The Cold Brew System has different parts to it. There is a brewing container, a brewing handle, a reusable filter, a stopper, a decanter, a decanter lid, and two f...

MAKING A PIZZA

Image
Pizza is a popular Italian dish that has taken on a life of its own in many countries around the world. The dish is a simple combination of dough, sauce, cheese and toppings, but the complex flavours and textures make it one of the most satisfying comfort foods. Historians believe that the origins of pizza can be traced back to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks who used flatbreads as plates for their meals. But it was the Italians who first began adding toppings to their flatbreads and baking them in a wood-fired oven. The first pizzeria was opened in Naples, Italy in 1738, serving the poor community who couldn't afford expensive meals. The dish became popular quickly, with locals lining up to get a taste of the delicious delicacy. The earliest pizza was called 'Pizza Marinara' which consisted of tomato, garlic, oregano and olive oil. It was named after the local fishermen who would add these ingredients to their pizza to give it a flavour boost. Over the years, the pizza...

HISTORY OF SCIENCE

Image
The  history of science  studies the emergence and development of systematic knowledge. Linguistic and historiographic traditions diverge sharply as to what kind of knowledge that is (e.g., the German  Wissenschaft  versus the Anglophone ‘science’), with significant consequences for the scope and methods of the field. The history of science is an ancient pursuit, but a relatively young discipline. Although major works dedicated to the history of one or another science have been published since the eighteenth century, specialist journals, learned societies, and university positions date mostly from the twentieth century. Since the Enlightenment, the historiography of science has been dominated by narratives of progress and by the central position of the Scientific Revolution. Stimulated largely by the publication of Thomas S. Kuhn's  The Structure of Scientific Revolutions  (1970), the history of science since about 1970 has broken decisively with thi...

IMPORTANCE OF STUDYING

Image
Method Study is necessary to succeed. Studying is a good way to develop our mental. Studying can increase our experience and knowledge. The study can also train our minds to understand the complexities of the subject chosen and then apply that understanding in practical terms. Through study, we can learn how to discipline ourselves to do something we don’t want to do, which will help us succeed in anything in our lives. Now I would like to share some study methods that I had learnt before and in the class that can improve my study. I will be independent in learning , and not rely on others. Besides that, I will also set the goals for myself. When you know clearly about your goals,   What am I going to study today? Do I have to bring along all the materials that I need in the class? Read about the topic that will be learnt today. While in the class, I will concentrate on listening to my lecturer. I will also take notes and jot down the useful information. If I don’t underst...
